# Scalability and Performance

Scalability is a key consideration in the design of Ottochain to ensure it can handle increasing transaction volumes and support a growing user base. As explained [here](https://phemex.com/academy/what-is-evmos), Ottochain supports much faster transaction throughput and lower gas fees than Ethereum.
